Deep Conditioning

Some ladies feel that deep conditioning is something that should be done as a special hair treatment or when their hair starts to breaks. On the contrary, deep conditioning should be done at least every week and not when hair starts to break.

PRACTICAL TIPS ON HOW TO DEEP CONDITION YOUR HAIR
  1. APPLY YOUR CONDITIONER IN SECTIONS: Divide your hair into sections and apply the conditioner in a downward motion and also use your finger to smooth it in. This enable the conditioner to reach all areas of your than when you just rub at random places on your hair.
  2. CONDITION THE TIPS WELL: When conditioning, the tips of your hair should be your main focus as that is the oldest and withered part of your hair. Ensure the ends are conditioned properly.
  3.  DETANGLING: some ladies find it easier to detangle their hair with conditioner in it while others detangle after conditioning. For me, i do not like detangling with conditioner on my hair because working with the wet hair and all that  makes me tired....dont know why. I detangle when i prepoo and when am applying  leave in, i use a wide tooth comb
  4. APPLY HEAT: After applying the conditioner, cover your hair with a nylon shower cap so that your body heat would help with the process. the heat will make the hair cuticle to swell which allows the conditioner to penetrate into the hair.It is heat that makes an ordinary conditioning process into a deep conditioning. Ensure that you cover the cap on your hair up to 45 mins to 1hr. Rinsing out the conditioner after a few minutes is not enough time to allow the conditioner penetrate.
  5. Use A TEE: After rinsing out the conditioner bloat out excessive water from the hair with a t-shirt. You could use any other soft smooth material but i prefer to use t-shirt to towel because towel tend to be rough on our hair.
  6. PROTEIN-MOISTURE: If you used a protein conditioner to deep condition then dont forget to use a moisture conditioner next. you could follow up with a moisture based leave in. Dont forget protein/moisture balance.

I hope this post has been helpful in letting you know how to go about your deep conditioning process. If you have any question you could hit me up on the comment section. Dont forget to care for your hair.

It is necessary you prep your hair before going to bed just like you do for your skin. Most of us make the mistake of paying more attention to our skin care, pedicure and manicure, even our teeth whilst neglecting our hair just because we can cover it up with extensions, caps, hats  e.t.c . It is very essential to make sure that our hair is well prepped for bed before taking your night rest                           REASONS WHY HAIR SHOULD BE PREPPED FOR BED Hair that is not kept well for the night will leave your hair in a bad shape the next morning. Moisturizing and Sealing

WHAT IS MOISTURIZING?  Moisturizing is a process whereby a moisturizing product is applied to the hair especially the tip to help keep the hair well hydrated. A well moisturized hair does not tend to get dried easily and is not so prone to breakage because dry hair is one of the factors of hair breakage. WHAT IS SEALING? Sealing is a process where a small amount of oil is applied to the hair especially the ends  to lock in the moisture. This oil enables the moisture to be sealed into the hair fibers and keep the hair hydrated for longer.           WHEN SHOULD HAIR BE MOISTURIZED AND SEALED Moisturizing our hair once a week will not meet the moisture requirement our hair needs in other to stay healthy especially black hair which is prone to been dry. Furthermore, due to our climate, our hair tends to evaporate moisture quickly. Even a hair that has undergone chemical processes such as relaxing and colour treatment will lose ...
