Tips On How To Use A Sulfate Free Shampoo

Hair drying my hair in sections after wash
I washed my hair yesterday although i used a clarifying shampoo. I used ors creamy aloe shampoo. Today i want to share tips on how to use a sulfate free shampoo because this was something i struggled with a little bit when i started my hair journey. The first day i used a sulfate free shampoo(i used El glitas hair wonder shampoo, i still use it till now) i found it to be a little annoying. Why? it didnt latter up like the ones containing sulfates and it didnt give me that clean feeling also. So the Nigerian in me came out as i made ridiculous comments like sulfate free shampoo indeed, this thing doesnt even wash hair....mtewwwwww lol. I even thought maybe the shampoo wasnt a good one and i made up my mind to change it. But something said to me ( i think it was the holy spirit) to read the ingredient again and use it one more time. And i discovered that it actually had a lot of good benefits to hair. The first time, i just scanned through the ingredients to make sure it did not contain sulfate, so i tried it once again and i fell in love with the shampoo. P.S it took me several wash days to be able to use the sulfate free shampoo properly. So as not to fall victim like me i will be sharing tips on how to use the shampoo.

TIPS ON HOW TO USE A SULFATE FREE SHAMPOO
  1. Wet your hair properly before applying the shampoo
  2. Apply the product on your hair. Your main focus should be your scalp and not your ends when cleansing with shampoo and do not worry that its not lathering up.
  3. Make sure that your hair is downwards. Do not bunch your hair up to wash to avoid tangling
  4. Apply shampoo twice. Rinse out the first application of shampoo and apply another one. This second application should lather more than the first one
  5. Apply more water instead of more product.
  6. Rinse out the shampoo and then follow up with your conditioner
Extra Tip: You could wash your hair in braids to get to your scalp easily. I wash my hair in braids because it enables me to control my hair easily .When my hair is all over the place it makes me tired and i am not able to get to the scalp hence, not washing the hair properly so i wash in braids. Besides it helps to reduce tangling during washing.

Please do note that lather does not mean clean and why most of the sulfate free shampoo do not lather much is because they actually do not contain sulfate. Sulfate free shampoos are good for hair because they dont strip the hair of its natural oil. Ensure to use a clarifying shampoo once a month or once in two months to remove stubborn dirt that the sulfate free shampoo could not remove.

Did you switch to a sulfate free shampoo? Do tell me how it made your hair feel and what you think about it.

OVER AND OUT!!!

Most of us make the mistake of paying more attention to our skin care, pedicure and manicure, even our teeth whilst neglecting our hair just because we can cover it up with extensions, caps, hats  e.t.c . It is very essential to make sure that our hair is well prepped for bed before taking your night rest                           REASONS WHY HAIR SHOULD BE PREPPED FOR BED Hair that is not kept well for the night will leave your hair in a bad shape the next morning. Moisturizing and Sealing

WHAT IS MOISTURIZING?  Moisturizing is a process whereby a moisturizing product is applied to the hair especially the tip to help keep the hair well hydrated. A well moisturized hair does not tend to get dried easily and is not so prone to breakage because dry hair is one of the factors of hair breakage. WHAT IS SEALING? Sealing is a process where a small amount of oil is applied to the hair especially the ends  to lock in the moisture. This oil enables the moisture to be sealed into the hair fibers and keep the hair hydrated for longer.           WHEN SHOULD HAIR BE MOISTURIZED AND SEALED Moisturizing our hair once a week will not meet the moisture requirement our hair needs in other to stay healthy especially black hair which is prone to been dry.
