My Bed Time Routine

How do you keep your hair if you are about to go to bed. Do you just lay on your bed with your hair like that? If you sleep with your hair that way then you are doing it wrong. It is necessary you prep your hair before going to bed just like you do for your skin. Most of us make the mistake of paying more attention to our skin care, pedicure and manicure, even our teeth whilst neglecting our hair just because we can cover it up with extensions, caps, hats  e.t.c . It is very essential to make sure that our hair is well prepped for bed before taking your night rest                           REASONS WHY HAIR SHOULD BE PREPPED FOR BED Hair that is not kept well for the night will leave your hair in a bad shape the next morning. Your hair will be messed up the next morning which will give you the task of keeping it back in shape. Sleeping with your hair just like that can result to matting and tangling of the hair w...

Moisturizing and Sealing

WHAT IS MOISTURIZING?  Moisturizing is a process whereby a moisturizing product is applied to the hair especially the tip to help keep the hair well hydrated. A well moisturized hair does not tend to get dried easily and is not so prone to breakage because dry hair is one of the factors of hair breakage. WHAT IS SEALING? Sealing is a process where a small amount of oil is applied to the hair especially the ends  to lock in the moisture. This oil enables the moisture to be sealed into the hair fibers and keep the hair hydrated for longer.           WHEN SHOULD HAIR BE MOISTURIZED AND SEALED Moisturizing our hair once a week will not meet the moisture requirement our hair needs in other to stay healthy especially black hair which is prone to been dry. Furthermore, due to our climate, our hair tends to evaporate moisture quickly. Even a hair that has undergone chemical processes such as relaxing and colour treatment will lose ...

Leave In Conditioners

For your hair to be manageable and beautiful then leave in conditioner should be applied to the hair. It is important that you choose a good leave in conditioner that is good for your hair type so as to have beautiful strands. Leave in conditioners come in different forms. They could come in sprays, lotions and cream. Note that leave in conditioners are either protein or moisture based. If u have a weak hair then you should use a protein based leave in for strength and if you have a dry hair then you should use a moisture based leave in. If you are not sure of the one to use then probably you should use a moisture based leave in because black hair tends to be on the dryer side. Its okay to use a little of both but just make sure to find the one that works best for your hair. Leave in conditioners are used after cleansing and deep conditioning the hair. Some leave in conditioners can be used as a daily moisturizer. i use mine as a daily moisturizer. Please note that not all leave in ...

Deep Conditioning

Some ladies feel that deep conditioning is something that should be done as a special hair treatment or when their hair starts to breaks. On the contrary, deep conditioning should be done at least every week and not when hair starts to break.              PRACTICAL TIPS ON HOW TO DEEP CONDITION YOUR HAIR APPLY YOUR CONDITIONER IN SECTIONS : Divide your hair into sections and apply the conditioner in a downward motion and also use your finger to smooth it in. This enable the conditioner to reach all areas of your than when you just rub at random places on your hair. CONDITION THE TIPS WELL: When conditioning, the tips of your hair should be your main focus as that is the oldest and withered part of your hair. Ensure the ends are conditioned properly.   DETANGLING: some ladies find it easier to detangle their hair with conditioner in it while others detangle after conditioning. For me, i do not like detangling with c...

WHAT ARE HAIR CONDITIONERS?    Hair conditioner is a hair care product that sef uhelps to change the texture and appearance of hair. Hair conditioners are mostly used after washing the hair with shampoo. Some people like using conditioner to cleanse their hair. Its called co-wavgsh. According to Wikipedia, there are three types of conditioner. which are: PACK CONDITIONER : This type of conditioner are heavy and thick and are usually applied to the hair for a longer period of time. it has a higher viscosity( the state of being thick, sticky and semi fluid in consistency) and they tend to form thicker layers on the surface of the hair. The hair journey

My first decision to start a hair journey was after i noticed that my hair was breaking a lot.......not that it didn't break at all before but it was a lot worse. Not only did my hair break but my scalp started to hurt me that i would even be afraid to put a comb in it. So i went to research on what will end my hair breakage problems and that was how i learnt and discovered a lot of things. Its not about applying hair products on your hair.Good hair produts are good but do you also accompany that with a healthy hair practice? For instance, if you plant a seed and u dont care for it to grow then that seed will wither and die same with our hair. Taking care of our hair properly will make it more healthier. Like i said, i learnt and discovered a lot of things and i will be sharing. A lot of us who are on a healthy hair journey have experienced some kind of challenges or setbacks. The very first hair challenge i experienced was actually buying the products i would use for my hair. ...

Shampoos

Shampoo is a hair product that is used to clease the hair. The aim of using a shampoo is to remove the unwanted build up in your hair without stripping out so much sebum (sebum is oily, waxy substance that is produced by a gland to help make your hair lubricated and manageable). There are a lot of shampoos in the market out there and choosing a shampoo can be a little difficult but knowing the types of shampoo can make the task a lot easier. Shampoos are commonly described by NON SULFATE and a shampoo that has SULFATE.
